    Peru aims to offer safe wood to more competitive markets

    In mid-2014 the National Forestry Chamber completed the design of a system so that 100% of the timber that is traded in and out of the country is guaranteed.

    With the implementation of a traceability system designed by the National Forestry Chamber, it is easy to know the origin of the wood that is offered in our country and those that come out of our borders, considered Mary Wong, Deputy CEO of GS1 Peru.

    "This system will also allow companies to enter formal increasingly competitive markets that demand guaranteeing the origin, processing and identification of wood," Wong said.
